418 ABPZ20 KNHC 130526 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 1100 PM PDT Sat Aug 12 2023 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: Active Systems: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on recently upgraded Tropical Storm Fernanda, located several hundred miles south-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. Western East Pacific (EP99): A broad area of low pressure located about 1500 miles east- southeast of the Hawaiian Islands continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are expected to remain conducive for development, and a tropical depression is likely to form within the next couple of days. The system is forecast to move west or west-northwestward at about 10 mph across the far western portion of the basin through Sunday, and then cross into the Central Pacific basin Sunday night. * Formation chance through 48 hours...high...70 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...high...80 percent. Off the Coast of Southern Mexico: Disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the far eastern portion of the east Pacific are associated with a tropical wave.
