036 ABPZ20 KNHC 030528 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 1100 PM PDT Tue Aug 2 2022 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: Active Systems: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Depression Georgette, located about 1400 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. Offshore of Southern Mexico: A tropical wave is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms over Central America and the adjacent waters. The wave is expected to move into the eastern Pacific basin later today, and an area of low pressure is forecast to form a few hundred miles south of southern Mexico later this week. Environmental conditions are expected to be favorable for additional development thereafter, and a tropical depression is likely to form by this weekend while moving west-northwestward, remaining well offshore of the coast of southern Mexico. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent.
