Shower and thunderstorm activity has increased a little in association with a broad area of low pressure located about 500 miles south-southeast of Acapulco, Mexico. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for gradual development, and this disturbance could become a tropical depression during the next couple of days while it moves slowly toward the west-northwest or northwest. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...50 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...70 percent.
