The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1530 UTC. ...TROPICAL WAVES... The axis of a tropical wave is near 94W extending southward from the Bay of Campeche, moving W at around 10 to 15 kt. No significant convection is present at this time. The axis of a tropical wave is near 124W from 07N to 20N, moving W at around 15 kt. Any nearby convection is discussed in the monsoon trough/ITCZ section below. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 10N86W to 1011 mb low pres near 11N100W to another 1011 low pres near 10N110W to 15N116W to beyond 11N140W. Scattered moderate to strong convection is noted from 09N to 14N between 89W and 94W, from 08N to 15N between 98W and 104W, and from 10N to 15N W of 120W. ...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Fresh to strong N to NE winds and seas of 5-7 ft are noted in the Gulf of Tehuantepec. Gentle to moderate NW winds are occurring off the coast of Baja California, with light to gentle winds and seas of 4-5 ft elsewhere. Seas of 1-3 ft prevail over the Gulf of California. For the forecast, moderate NW winds will occur off of Baja California Norte today, with moderate to fresh winds continuing into this weekend. A building N swell will lead to seas of 7-8 ft north of Punta Eugenia Thu into Sun. Fresh, to at times strong, N winds will continue to pulse in the Tehuantepec region through Thu. Otherwise, a weak pressure pattern will support light to gentle winds and moderate seas through the rest of this week. ...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Pulsing moderate to fresh NE winds are noted across the Gulf of Papagayo region. Gentle to moderate winds prevail elsewhere across the offshore waters. Seas of 3-5 ft prevail across the whole forecast area. For the forecast, moderate to fresh NE winds will continue to pulse at night in the Gulf of Papagayo into Fri. Gentle to moderate S to SW winds will prevail south of the monsoon trough through the rest of this week, and light to gentle winds will prevail north of the monsoon trough. Seas will be generally in the 4 to 6 ft range. ...REMAINDER OF THE AREA... Moderate to fresh SW winds are occurring south of the monsoon trough west of 120W, and moderate to locally fresh NE winds are noted north of the trough. Moderate or weaker winds and slight to moderate seas prevail across the remainder of the area. Moderate to fresh S winds will continue south of the monsoon trough through today, with moderate NE winds persisting north of the trough into Fri. Moderate to fresh N to NW winds and seas of 8 to 9 feet will develop across the central waters Thu into Sat.
