Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1550 UTC. ...TROPICAL WAVES... The axis of a tropical wave is near 100W north of 05N, moving west at 10 kt. Scattered moderate convection is from 08N to 15N between 99W and 105W. The axis of a tropical wave is near 110W from 07N and 19N, moving W at 10 kt. Numerous moderate to strong convection is from 14N to 19N between 110W and 115W. Scattered moderate convection is elsewhere from 10N to 15N between 114W and 117W. The axis of a tropical wave is near 120W from 05N to 16N, moving W at around 10 kt. Scattered moderate convection is from 09N to 16N between 119W and 128W. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 10N85W to 152N100W to 16N110W to 10N126W. The ITCZ continues from 10N126W to beyond 08N140W. Aside from the convection associated with the tropical waves above, numerous moderate to isolated strong convection is noted from 06N to 10N between 83W and 87W, and from 06N to 11N between 93W and 98W. ...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Moderate to locally fresh winds are noted across the Jalisco and Cabo san Lucas offshore waters due to a passing tropical wave and associated low pressure center. Gentle to locally moderate winds are elsewhere, except for moderate to fresh SE winds along the Gulf of California. Seas are in the 4-7 ft range over the open waters off Mexico, and 1-3 ft over the Gulf of California. For the forecast, moderate to fresh winds along with showers and thunderstorms will progress W from offshore SW Mexico to near the Revillagigedo Islands through tonight in association with a tropical wave and weak low pressure. Elsewhere, gentle to moderate breezes and slight to moderate seas will persist. ...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Moderate to locally fresh gap winds are over and downwind the Gulf of Papagayo, with light to gentle winds elsewhere north of the monsoon trough. Gentle to locally moderate winds are south of the monsoon trough. Seas are in the 5-7 ft range. For the forecast, gentle to moderate winds and moderate seas will persist through the remainder of the week into the weekend. ...REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A ridge extends across the discussion waters N of 20N. The pressure gradient between this area of high pressure and lower pressure within the monsoon trough is supporting moderate winds N of the monsoon trough and W of 130W. Elsewhere N of the monsoon trough, gentle to locally moderate winds and seas of 5 to 7 ft prevail. South of the monsoon trough, moderate to locally fresh winds and seas of 5 to 8 ft in southerly swell dominate. For the forecast, seas to 8 ft in S long-period swell will gradually decay into late week. Along and S of the monsoon trough, SW winds combined with this long-period southerly swell will combine to support seas of 8 to 9 ft.
