The ITCZ extends from 04N97W to 06N135W. A surface trough extends from 09N137W to 04N139W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 01N to 06N E of 84W and from 05N to 11N between 108W and 131W. ...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Moderate NW winds are occurring over central Gulf of California. Moderate to locally fresh N winds prevail across the Gulf of Tehuantepec. Gentle to moderate NW winds dominate waters W of Baja California. For the remainder of the area, a weak pressure gradient is leading to light to gentle winds. Seas average 3 to 6 ft, except 5 to 7 ft offshore Baja California in NW swell. Seas in the Gulf of California are 2-3 ft. For the forecast, moderate to fresh gap winds will prevail across the Tehuantepec region tonight. Elsewhere, winds across the area will be moderate or weaker through Sun. High pressure building over the U.S. Great Basin should funnel fresh to locally strong NW winds over the Gulf of California Mon through Tue night. NW swell will propagate across the waters W of Baja California into Sun, before diminishing. A significant pressure gradient in the area continues to support fresh to strong NE winds over the Gulf of Papagayo region, where seas are 5 to 7 ft. Elsewhere, winds are moderate or weaker, with seas of 3 to 6 ft. For the forecast, fresh to strong NE winds will prevail over the Gulf of Papagayo region into tonight.
