Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0830 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 08N78W to 10N85W to 06N89W. The ITCZ continues from 06N89W to 07N108W, then resumes W of 2 troughs near 03N124W to 03N140W. The troughs extend along 112W and 122W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 00N to 08N and E of 88W, and from 02N to 15N between 103W and 127W. ...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Moderate to fresh winds are noted west of Baja California Norte. Gentle to moderate winds prevails elsewhere west of Baja California Sur southward to off Cabo Corrientes...including the entrance to the Gulf of California. Light to gentle winds are noted elsewhere. Seas are in the 5-7 ft range over the open waters north of Cabo Corrientes, and 5-6 ft over the waters south of Cabo Corrientes. Seas over the Gulf of California are in the 1-2 ft range. For the forecast, moderate to fresh NW to N winds will prevail along the Baja offshore waters through the middle of the week, briefly increasing to fresh to strong speeds at night N of Punta Eugenia tonight through Tue. Gentle to moderate winds and moderate seas will prevail elsewhere through Wed. Reduced visibilities in haze are possible in the S and SW Mexican offshore waters due to smoke produced by agricultural fires. ...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Fresh to strong winds are over the Gulf of Papagayo region with seas to 9 ft. Moderate to fresh winds are over and downstream of the Gulf of Panama with seas to 6 ft. Light to gentle winds prevail elsewhere, except to moderate speeds south of the Galapagos Islands. Outside the seas in the Papagayo region, seas are in the 4-6 ft range. For the forecast, fresh to strong gap winds will pulse at night over the Gulf of Papagayo region through Tue morning. Moderate to fresh northerly winds are expected across the Gulf of Panama today. Gentle to moderate breezes will prevail elsewhere into mid week. A large SW swell will reach the Galapagos waters through mid week.
