The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0830 UTC. ...SPECIAL FEATURE... Tropical Depression Ivette is centered south of Clarion Island near 17.2N 114.4W at 16/0900 UTC moving WSW at 3 kt. Estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb. Maximum sustained wind speed is 30 kt with gusts to 40 kt. T.D. Ivette is fully exposed under strong easterly shear, and no significant convection is evident near the center. Seas are peaking near 8 ft. Ivette Is forecast to slowly drift westward and weaken to a remnant low today. A tropical wave is along 81W north of 05N, moving west at 10 to 15 kt. No significant convection is evident near the wave axis over Pacific waters. A tropical wave has its axis near 94W north of 05N, moving west at around 10 kt. Scattered moderate convection is along the wave axis near 12N. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 10N85W to 09N95W to 15N107W. It continues from 13N120W to 13N135W to 12N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted from 10N to 12N between 134W and 138W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Refer to the Special Features section for details on T.S. Ivette. Outside of T.D. Ivette, gentle to moderate NW winds prevail off Baja California north of Cabo San Lazaro. Seas are 5 to 6 ft north of Punta Eugenia in NW swell. Light to gentle breezes are noted elsewhere, with 3 to 5 ft seas in open waters in mostly SW swell south of 20N, and NW to N swell north of 20N. Light winds and slight seas are noted in the Gulf of California. For the forecast, Outside of T.D. Ivette, gentle to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will persist through Sat. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Light to gentle breezes persist north of 05N, with 3 to 5 ft seas. Gentle to moderate SW winds and 5 to 8 ft seas in SW swell are noted south of 05N. For the forecast, moderate SW winds will prevail across the offshore waters between Ecuador and the Galapagos Island through the forecast period. SW swell in this region will continue to spread northward towards the Central America offshore waters south of 05N through the week. Light to gentle winds and moderate seas will prevail across the northern Central America offshore waters through mid- week. Gentle to moderate NE to E winds are north of the monsoon trough and west of 120W, where seas are 4-7 ft. Moderate S to SW winds are S of the monsoon trough with seas in the 5 to 7 ft range.
