Associated convection is noted below in the ITCZ/monsoon trough section. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends off the coast of El Salvador near 13N90W to 12N107W to 05N130W. The ITCZ extends from 05N130W to beyond 06N140W. Scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is noted N of 04N and E of 89W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 04N to 11N between 97W and 123W. ...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A weak pressure gradient between ridging offshore and lower pressure over the Baja California peninsula is supporting moderate to fresh NW winds along Baja California Norte. Gentle to moderate winds are noted elsewhere across the Baja California offshore waters. Seas are 5-7 ft in NW swell. Gentle to moderate winds prevail over the Gulf of California with seas to 3 ft. Elsewhere, light to gentle winds prevail over the open waters off Mexico. Seas are 5-6 ft in S to SW swell. For the forecast, moderate to fresh NW winds off Baja California Norte will diminish by Thu night as high pressure weakens.
