Associated convection is noted below in the ITCZ/monsoon trough section. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 10N86W to 14N94W to 06N128W. The ITCZ continues from 06N128W to 05N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted north of 04N east of 90W, and from 07N to 15N between 90W and 105W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 03N to 07N between 112W and 118W. ...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A weak pressure gradient between ridging offshore and lower pressure over the Baja California peninsula is supporting moderate to locally fresh NW winds west of the Baja California peninsula. Moderate to fresh SW to W winds are occurring south of the monsoon trough over the Gulf of Tehuantepec. Elsewhere, light to gentle winds prevail over the open waters off Mexico. Gentle to moderate winds prevail over the Gulf of California. Seas are 6-8 ft in the Tehuantepec region, 1-3 ft in the Gulf of California, and 4-6 ft elsewhere. For the forecast, moderate to fresh NW winds off Baja California Norte will diminish Wed as high pressure weakens. Elsewhere, winds and seas will be quiescent for the next several days. ...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Moderate to locally fresh SW to W winds are noted over the Guatemala and El Salvador waters. Elsewhere, gentle to locally moderate winds prevail. Seas are 6-8 ft over the Guatemala and El Salvador waters and 4-6 ft elsewhere. For the forecast, moderate to fresh SW to W winds and 6-8 ft seas over the Guatemala and El Salvador waters will diminish by Wed night. Elsewhere, winds and seas should remain quiescent for the next several days. ...REMAINDER OF THE AREA... High pressure of 1020 mb is centered near 28N140W, with associated surface ridge extending SW to near the Revillagigedo Islands. Light to gentle winds are in the vicinity of the high center. Elsewhere a weak pressure gradient between this area of high pressure and lower pressure in the vicinity of the ITCZ is supporting gentle to moderate winds north of the ITCZ. Light to gentle winds prevail north of the monsoon trough. Gentle to moderate winds are south of the monsoon trough and ITCZ.
