OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO...Corrected High pressure of 1028 mb centered well north of the area is providing for moderate to fresh northwest to north winds across the waters west and southwest of the Baja California peninsula. Seas of 6-9 ft in northwest swell are over these waters. Gentle to moderate northwest to north winds are over the Gulf of California, except for gentle southwest to west winds over the northern part of the Gulf. Seas are in the 3-5 ft range in the central Gulf of California and 2-3 ft elsewhere in the Gulf of California. Gentle to moderate northwest to north winds along with seas of 4-6 ft are over the southern Mexican offshore waters, except for gentle to moderate northwest to north winds in the Gulf of Tehuantepec where seas are 4-6 ft due to a south to southwest swell. For the forecast, the moderate to fresh northwest to north winds will continue west of Baja California Norte through late Sat night, and west and southwest of Baja California Sur through Sat afternoon. Winds will be at gentle to moderate speeds afterwards going into next week. Long-period moderate northwest swell will remain west of Baja California Norte through Mon, and Baja California Sur through Sun morning before gradually subsiding afterwards. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, and WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR Fresh to locally strong northeast to east winds along with seas of 4-6 ft are offshore from the Papagayo region and southern Nicaragua. Gentle to moderate south to southwest winds along with seas of 5-7 ft are between the west of coast of Colombia and Galapagos Islands. Light to gentle winds and seas of 4-5 ft due to a south to southwest continue across the remainder of the offshore waters. For the forecast, the fresh to strong northeast to east winds from offshore the Papagayo region to the southern Nicaragua will become gentle to moderate in speeds late Sat afternoon. Long- period moderate south to southwest swell across the much of the region will subside to light by the middle of next week. REMAINDER OF THE AREA A tight pressure gradient between a 1028 mb high off the southern California coast and lower pressure in the vicinity of the ITCZ is maintaining moderate to fresh northeast to east trades from north of the ITCZ to 27N and west of about 123W. Long-period primarily northwest to north swell in this area is maintaining seas of 7-9 ft. Gentle to moderate east to southeast winds along with seas of 5-7 ft due to a moderate long- period south to southwest swell are noted elsewhere. For the forecast, the aforementioned north to north swell will begin to decay on Sun and through early next allowing for the 7-9 ft seas to diminish in coverage. Elsewhere, southerly swell should maintain seas of 5-7 ft seas through the middle of next week. $$ Aguirre
