The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1520 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 10N75W to 03.5N90W to 04.5N104W. The ITCZ continues from 04.5N104W to 05N113W to 04.5N118W to beyond 06N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted from 01S to 06.5N E of 91W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 0.5S to 03N between 95W and 108W. Scattered moderate to strong convection is noted from 05.5N to 10N W of 104W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO Fresh to strong N to NW winds continue across the Baja offshore waters this morning, to the N of the remnants of a dissipated cold front extending across the entrance to the Gulf of California and westward along 21N across the offshore waters of Baja California Sur. Seas along the Baja offshore waters N of Punta Eugenia are in the 9-12 ft range in NW swell, and 8-10 ft southward to 21N. Moderate to fresh NW to W winds prevail across most of the Gulf of California, except fresh northerly winds immediately behind the frontal remnants near the coast E of Cabo San Lucas. Seas across the Gulf are 3-5 ft except to 6 ft across the entrance near Baja Sur. Fresh to strong N to NE winds continuein a narrow plume across the Gulf of Tehuantepec where seas are 6-7 ft. Gentle to locally moderate NW winds are elsewhere along the SW Mexican offshore waters where wave heights of 4-6 ft prevail. Winds in the Gulf of Tehuantepec will gradually diminish to moderate speeds later this morning. The front will dissipate today and winds offshore of Baja will diminish to moderate speeds tonight. Moderate to fresh NW winds in the Gulf of California will prevail through Wed and increase to fresh to strong speeds Wed night through Thu. Gale force winds are likely to develop in the Tehuantepec region early on Thu. Winds are forecast to reach gale-force Thu afternoon and continue through late Sat. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, and WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR Fresh to strong gap winds are blowing across the Papagayo region with seas of 6-8 ft. These winds cover most of the Nicaragua offshore waters. Moderate to fresh N to NE winds are in the Gulf of Panama with 3-5 ft seas. Light to gentle winds are elsewhere along with wave heights of 3-5 ft due to SW swell. Fresh to strong NE to E winds are expected across the Papagayo region through Tue. Moderate to fresh NE to E winds will then continue across the Nicaragua offshore waters through Fri. Moderate to fresh N winds are expected in the Gulf of Panama through Mon night. Cross equatorial SW swell will continue to affect the offshore forecast waters through mid week. REMAINDER OF THE AREA A 1032 mb high pressure system centered near 35N131W dominates the waters N of the ITCZ and W of about 115W. This weather pattern will continue to support fresh to locally strong NE to E winds and high seas in mixed swell across much of the forecast waters W of 110W through late Wed.
