The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0930 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 06N78W to 04N91W to 04N104W. The ITCZ continues from 04N104W to 04N121W to beyond 06N140W. Scattered moderate convection is from 02S to 07N E of 100W, from 03N to 10N between 102W and 120W, and from 02N to 16N W of 125W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO Fresh to strong NW winds continue to follow a weakening cold front moving across Baja California Sur offshore waters. Seas along the Baja offshore waters are in the 8-11 ft range in NW swell. Moderate to fresh NW winds are along the Gulf of California with seas to 5 ft. Fresh to strong N to NE winds with seas to 6 ft are in the Gulf of Tehuantepec. Gentle to locally moderate NW winds are elsewhere along the SW Mexican offshore waters where wave heights of 4-5 ft prevail. Winds in the Gulf of Tehuantepec will gradually diminish to moderate speeds this morning. The front will dissipate today and winds will diminish to moderate speeds tonight. Moderate to fresh NW winds in the Gulf of California will prevail through Wed and increase to fresh to strong speeds Wed night through Thu. Gale force winds are likely to develop with the next gap wind event in the Tehuantepec region forecast to begin early on Thu. Winds are forecast to reach gale-force Thu afternoon and continue through late Sat. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, and WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR Fresh to strong gap winds are blowing across the Papagayo region with seas of 6-8 ft. These winds cover most of the Nicaragua offshore waters. Moderate to fresh N to NE winds are in the Gulf of Panama with 3-5 ft seas. Light to gentle winds are elsewhere along with wave heights of 3-5 ft due to SW swell. Fresh to strong NE to E winds are expected across the Papagayo region through Tue. Moderate to fresh NE to E winds will then continue across the Nicaragua offshore waters through Fri. Moderate to fresh N winds are expected in the Gulf of Panama through Mon night. Cross equatorial SW swell will continue to affect the offshore forecast waters through mid week. REMAINDER OF THE AREA A 1033 mb high pressure system centered near 35N131W dominates the waters N of the ITCZ and W of about 115W. This high pressure center is to the NW of a dissipating cold front that is moving across the southern tip of Baja California Sur. This weather pattern will continue to support fresh to locally strong NE to E winds and building seas across much of the forecast waters W of 110W through late Wed.
