The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0900 UTC. ...TROPICAL WAVES... The axis of a tropical wave is near 83W north of 03N to across western Panama and into the Caribbean Sea, moving west at 10 to 15 kt. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 03N to 08N between 80W and 83W. The axis of a tropical wave is near 94W north of 04N, moving west at 5 to 10 kt. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 12N to 14N between 91W and 94W. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 10N86W to 18N106W to 11N125W. The ITCZ continues from 11N125W to 10N134W and resumes from 10N138W to beyond 10N140W. Aside from convection noted in the tropical waves section above, scattered moderate and isolated strong convection is from 08N to 12N between 134W and 140W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... The overnight ASCAT pass shows gentle to moderate winds prevail west of Baja California with light to gentle winds elsewhere. Seas are in the 6-7 ft range over the open waters, and 3 ft or less over the Gulf of California. For the forecast, gentle to moderate winds will prevail across the waters west of Baja California the next several days. Light to gentle winds will prevail elsewhere. SW swell across the area will continue to subside through the end of the week. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, and WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Light to gentle winds prevail over the offshore waters, along with seas in the 6 to 8 ft range. For the forecast, SW swell across the region will continue to subside through end of the week. Winds over the Papagayo region will pulse to moderate to fresh at night during the upcoming weekend. Otherwise, gentle to moderate winds will prevail. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... Moderate to locally fresh southerly winds prevail south of 10N and west of 120W. Seas are in the 6-7 ft range over this area. Light to gentle winds prevail south of the monsoon trough east of 120W. Seas continue to subside over this area, with seas in the 6-8 ft range. North of 10N and the monsoon trough, gentle to moderate winds are west of 130W and light to gentle east of 130W. Seas are in the 7 to 8 ft range north of 29N between 120W and 128W in NW to N swell, and 6-7 ft elsewhere.
