Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0300 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 08N78W to 09N86W to 07N95W. The ITCZ extends from 06N97W to 07N105W to 05N140W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 03N to 08N between 113W and 137W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A ridge of high pressure extends west of the Baja California peninsula. Moderate to fresh winds, and seas of 5-6 ft, prevail west of Baja California Norte. Light to gentle winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are 4 to 5 ft elsewhere across the open waters off Mexico, with seas 1-3 ft in the Gulf of California. Fresh to strong NW winds will prevail west of Baja California Norte through Sat. NW swell will increase seas off Baja California Norte Fri through Mon. Gentle to moderate winds are expected elsewhere through Mon. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, and WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Moderate to fresh winds are over and downstream of the Gulf of Papagayo. Gentle to moderate winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 3-5 ft range across the area. Gentle to moderate winds and 3 to 5 ft seas will prevail across most of the forecast area through Sun. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... Weak high pressure prevails across the northern waters east of 130W. A weak pressure gradient continues in the forecast waters, with moderate winds over the waters north of the ITCZ to near 15N and west of 105W. Gentle to moderate winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 6-7 ft range north of the ITCZ to near 15N and west of 135W. Seas of 4-6 ft prevail elsewhere. Little change is expected, and a weak pressure gradient will continue through Sat with gentle to moderate trade winds expected. High pressure will build modestly over the northern waters later this week, and slightly strengthen trade winds north of the ITCZ.
