The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0300 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough is from 08N78W to 06N94W. The ITCZ continues from 06N94W to 07N110W to 03N129W to 05N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted from 05N to 08N between 88W and 92W, and within 120 nm north of the ITCZ west of 133W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Scatterometer data shows fresh NW winds north of Punta Eugenia, and gentle to moderate winds elsewhere. Seas are 5-7 ft west of the Baja California peninsula, and 4 to 5 ft elsewhere. Little change is expected the next couple of days across the forecast area. Fresh NW winds will prevail west of Baja California Norte through Sat. NW swell will increase seas in the waters off Baja California Norte Fri and Sat. Light to gentle winds are expected elsewhere through Sun. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, and WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Scatterometer data shows moderate to fresh winds downstream from the Gulf of Papagayo region, and light to gentle winds elsewhere. , Seas are 5-6 ft near the Gulf of Papagayo, 4 to 5 ft elsewhere. Little change is expected the next couple of days across the forecast area. Gentle to moderate winds and 3 to 5 ft seas will prevail across most of the forecast area through Sun. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A weak ridge prevails over the waters east of 130W. A surface trough extends from 30N132W to 23N140W. A weakening, stationary low pressure area centered near 31N142W is acting to amplify the weak pressure gradient that currently exists across the forecast waters. Little change is expected the next couple of days. A weak pressure gradient will continue through Fri with mostly gentle to moderate trade winds expected. High pressure will start to build over the northern waters later this week, strengthening trade winds north of the ITCZ near 15N and west of 130W Fri and Sat. Northerly swell will enter the northern forecast waters east of 125W on Fri. Seas over this area will build to around 10-11 ft Sat night and Sun. $$ Mundell
