A tropical wave axis is near 133W from 01N to 19N, moving west at 15 to 20 kt. Convection is described below. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 09N84W to 12N92W to 12N114W to 11N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted from 05N to 09N between 80W and 86W, from 10N to 16N between 90W and 98W, from 10N to 12N between 100W and 120W, and from 10N to 13N between 130W and 140W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Gentle to moderate NW winds prevail across the waters north of 20N with seas 5 to 6 ft west of the Baja California peninsula. Little change in marine conditions is expected during the next few days. Remnant low pressure from TD Nana will pass the Gulf of Tehuantepec on Fri. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, and WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Moderate to fresh SW winds prevail S of the monsoon trough. Seas are 7 to 9 ft in long-period southerly swell. Moderate to fresh SW winds will persist south of the monsoon trough the next several days. Southerly cross- equatorial swell will continue E of 90W the next few days. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... Gentle to moderate winds prevail north of the monsoon trough. Moderate to fresh southerly flow persists south of the monsoon trough, with areas of 7 to 8 ft seas. Long- period southerly swell is spreading northward across the region E of 120W, with 8-9 ft seas south of the equator. This swell will continue propagating northward during the next few days. $$ AL
