The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0300 UTC. ...TROPICAL WAVES... A tropical wave axis is along 92W, north of 02N to Guatemala, moving west at 15 kt. Isolated showers are near the wave axis. A tropical wave axis is along 104W/105W, from 01N to 17N, moving west at 15 kt. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is from 09N to 15N between 100W and 107W. A tropical wave axis is along 115W, from 02N to 18N, moving west at 15 to 20 kt. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is from 07N to 18N between 111W and 119W. A tropical wave axis is along 132W, from 01N to 17N, moving west at 15 kt. Isolated showers are near the wave axis. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough axis extends from 08N78W to 11N104W to 08N118W to 12N131W to 12N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted from 06N to 19N between 100W and 120W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... The pressure gradient between a weak ridge and an elongated trough that stretches from the southwestern U.S. into NW Mexico will continue to support moderate to fresh northwest winds west of Baja California Norte overnight along with 4-6 ft seas. Moderate to fresh southerly winds are expected in the northern Gulf of California through Wed. Fresh northerly wind pulses are expected in the Gulf of Tehuantepec region this weekend. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, and WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... A monsoon trough axis, roughly along 08N to 09N east of 90W is expected to increase convective activity near and west of Panama and Costa Rica during the next couple of days, with the added energy from weak tropical waves migrating westward across this area. Moderate southerly winds will prevail south of the monsoon trough through Wed. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A weak ridge extends over the waters north of 15N. The gradient between the ridge and the monsoon trough is supporting moderate northeast trade winds north of the trough axis west of 115W. A shrinking area of cross-equatorial southeast swell producing 7 to 9 ft seas is located south of 15N and west of 130W. This area of swell will gradually shift west of 140W by Sat evening. $$ Mundell
