The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1545 UTC. ...TROPICAL WAVES... A tropical wave is along 89W, moving west at 10 to 15 kt. Scattered moderate convection is from 10N to 16N between 86W and 95W. A tropical wave axis is along 99W, moving west at 10 kt. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is from 08N to 16N between 95W and 106W. A tropical wave axis is along 120W, moving west at 10 to 15 kt. A 1007 mb low pressure accompanies this wave near 12.6N119W. Numerous moderate to isolated strong convection is from 09N to 15N between 116W and 127W. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough axis extends from 09N85W to 10N99W to 16N106W to 12N120W to 09N140W. Scattered moderate convection is N of 03N east of 82W, from 14N to 19N between 102W and 108W, and from 08N to 12N west of 128W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... High pressure west of Baja California will support fresh NW winds north of Punta Eugenia through tonight. A tightening pressure gradient over the southwest U.S. will support moderate to fresh winds over the northern Gulf of California today and again Sat. Farther south, pulses of fresh to strong gap winds are possible in the Gulf of Tehuantepec region Fri night through Sun night. These winds will support seas up to 6 ft, mixing with a component of longer period southerly swell. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, and WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... The monsoon trough has lifted northward along the coast of Central America and southern Mexico. This pattern will maintain scattered thunderstorms and gentle to moderate southerly winds in the region and coastal areas. Pulses of fresh offshore winds are likely in the Papagayo region through Fri. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A ridge of high pressure extends over the waters north of 16N. The pressure gradient between the ridge and the monsoon trough/ ITCZ is supporting moderate NE trade winds north of the monsoon trough west of 115W which is well depicted by the earlier ASCAT data. Seas in this region range between 5 to 7 ft. Meanwhile, cross-equatorial southerly swell east of 125W will support seas of 5 to 7 feet through the week. $$ Torres/Ramos
