Tropical Weather Discussion for the eastern Pacific Ocean from
the Equator to 32N, east of 140W. The following information is
based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and
meteorological analysis.

Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through
0215 UTC.

...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... 

The monsoon trough extends from northern Colombia near 09N75W to
11N96W to low pressure near 11N112W to low pressure near 10N118W
to low pressure near 09N129W. The ITCZ continues from 09N129W to
07N135W to 08N140W. Scattered moderate and isolated strong 
convection is noted from 05N to 11N between 88W and 94W, and 
within 14N111W to 10N105W to 07N106W to 07N110W to 10N115W to 
14N111W. Scattered moderate convection is noted within 12N128W to
08N121W to 07N124W to 09N128W to 12N128W.

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO...

A ridge extends from 32N136W to across the Revillagigedo Islands
to 16N104W. Moderate NW-N winds and 5-8 ft seas prevail N of 
20N, except southerly winds and seas 3 ft or less in the Gulf of
California. Gentle to moderate onshore winds prevail S of 20N 
along with 4-6 ft seas.

Agricultural fires in Mexico continue to produce haze all the way
into NW Mexico, while moderate smoke reducing visibilities to
around 3 nm exists over the coastal waters south of Cabo 
Corrientes. 

A trough moving through Baja California may allow for strong SW 
gap winds into the northern Gulf of California Fri night into 
early Sat. Otherwise, little change in marine conditions is 
expected through the weekend into early next week.

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL
AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... 

Some patchy haze due to agricultural fires will remain possible
near coastal locations, mainly from El Salvador westward.

Light to gentle winds persist off Central America, with gentle to
moderate SW winds farther south off Colombia and Ecuador. Wave 
heights are in the 4-6 ft due to SW swell. Shower and
thunderstorms may re-develop during the overnight hours along 
and just inland the coasts of Central American and Colombian 
coasts due to local drainage flow convergence.

An active monsoon trough will lead to moderate SW winds along 
with scattered showers and thunderstorms over the offshore waters
of southern Central America and Colombia through at least Thu. 
Elsewhere, generally gentle to moderate breezes will continue 
through the next few days. 

REMAINDER OF THE AREA...

A ridge extends from 32N136W to across the Revillagigedo Islands
to 16N104W. Mainly moderate trades prevail, locally fresh, while
corresponding seas are mainly 4-7 ft, locally to 8 ft near
several weak low pressure areas along the monsoon trough/ITCZ 
region. 

Fresh to strong northerly winds offshore of southern California
will send fresh northerly swell of 8-9 ft into the waters roughly
N of 27N and E of 125W Fri night through Sun, decaying
thereafter. Southerly flow south of the monsoon trough may
strengthen to moderate to fresh late this weekend into early next
week allowing for a growing area of 8-10 ft seas early next week.
Meanwhile, the ridge will breakdown and shift W early next week
as weak troughing develops across the N central waters. Winds W
of the troughing may increase to moderate to fresh helping to
build seas to around 8 ft early next week.
