The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0615 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 08N84W to 07N103W. The ITCZ extends from 07N103W to 08N120W to beyond 05N140W. Numerous moderate to scattered strong convection is noted from 03N to 09N between 84W and 103W. Scattered moderate to isolated convection is located from 03N to 12N between 103W and 125W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A weakening high pressure ridge extends SE offshore Baja California to the Revillagigedo Islands. Between this ridge and a low pressure trough over the peninsula, fresh NW winds are ongoing off the coast of Baja California Norte. Seas in this area are 7 to 9 ft. Moderate to locally fresh winds are also funneling near Cabo San Lucas. Light to gentle breezes prevail elsewhere over the Mexican offshore waters. Seas are 4 to 6 ft in open waters. Fresh winds will prevail off Baja California Norte into early Wed morning, before both the ridge and trough weaken and winds diminish. However, NW swell will contribute to maintaining seas of 7 to 9 ft in this area through Thu night. Strong N gap winds are forecast Wed and Thu nights in the Gulf of Tehuantepec. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Moderate to fresh gap winds are occurring the the Papagayo region. Elsewhere light to gentle winds prevail. Seas remain 4 to 6 ft through the region. Overall marine conditions will be tranquil through the week, although nightly pulses of moderate to fresh winds are forecast in the Gulf of Papagayo. SW long period swell is likely to reach the Galapagos Islands Thu and Fri. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A high pressure ridge north of 20N maintains moderate to fresh trades over the waters across the tropical waters west of 120W. Wave heights are generally 5 to 7 ft in mixed swell. Elsewhere, moderate to locally fresh trades are noted near the ITCZ west of 110W. Gentle winds generally prevail east of 110W.
