The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0615 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 07N77W to 07N102W. The ITCZ extends from 07N102W to 06N130W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 03N to 08N between 78W and 82W, from 03N to 10N between 85W and 111W, and from 02N to 09N between 132W and 140W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Strong to possibly near gale force N gap winds are occurring early this morning the Gulf of Tehuantepec. Elsewhere, weak high pressure centered near 31N132W extends a ridge SE to near the Revillagigedo Islands. Moderate NW winds are occurring W of Baja California Norte, with light to gentle winds elsewhere. Moderate NW swell propagating into the waters offshore Baja California Norte is bringing seas of up to 8 ft, and these will continue into this evening before the swell decays. Smoke from agricultural fires lingers over the waters from Cabo Corrientes SE to the Tehuantepec region. Note that smoke may reduce visibility at times over these waters. The offshore high pressure ridge will persist through early next week, keeping moderate NW winds in place to the west of Baja California. A set of NW swell will impact the waters north of Cabo San Lazaro Sun night into Wed, returning seas to around 8 ft. Strong gap winds in the Gulf of Tehuantepec will decrease to fresh later today and tonight, then diminish further Sat. Smoke from agricultural fires may reduce visibility at times in the offshore waters south of Cabo Corrientes. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Generally gentle flow prevails over the region due to a weak pressure gradient pattern. Seas are 4 to 6 ft. Smoke from agricultural fires is present over waters off Guatemala and El Salvador. Fresh to occasionally strong gap winds will pulse in the Papagayo region through Mon. Smoke from agricultural fires in Central America may reduce visibility at times in the waters off Guatemala and El Salvador. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A ridge extends across the northern waters from high pressure centered near 31N132W. Moderate to occasionally fresh trades persist west of 120W, especially closer to the ITCZ, with mainly gentle winds elsewhere. Seas are generally in the 5 to 7 ft range. High pressure will persist across the northern waters through early next week. NW swell moving into the waters west of Baja California will build seas to 8-10 ft east of 125W by Sun.
