A surface trough extends from 07N78W to 05N85W to low pressure near 10N108W to 06N115W. The ITCZ continues from 06N115W to 04N130W to 04N130W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted from 00N to 10N between 85W and 99W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted from 10N to 15N between 102W and 110W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 01N to 06N between 112W and 126W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... High pressure extends west of the offshore waters of Baja California. Light to gentle winds prevail across the forecast waters, except to moderate over the northern Gulf of California. Seas are in the 3-5 ft range over the open waters, 4-5 ft over the northern Gulf of California, and 1-2 ft over the remainder of the Gulf of California. Strong SW winds will affect the Gulf of California N of 30N tonight into early Sat in response to a cold front passing through this evening. A high pressure ridge W of Baja California will weaken and shift SE through Sun. Gentle to moderate NW winds are expected W of Baja California, with light to gentle winds prevailing elsewhere into early next week. NW winds W of Baja California will increase to moderate to fresh Tue and Tue night as high pressure builds in from the NW. Seas over this area will build to between 7 and 9 ft. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Fresh to strong winds prevail over the Gulf of Papagayo. Moderate to fresh winds prevail over the Gulf of Panama. Gentle to moderate winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 6-8 ft range over the Gulf of Papagayo, and 2-4 ft elsewhere. Winds will pulse to fresh to strong across the Papagayo region tonight due to a high pres ridge N of the Caribbean. Light to gentle winds will prevail elsewhere. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A ridge extends from high pressure of 1023 mb centered near 29N142W to near 21N116W. The pressure gradient between this area of high pressure and lower pressure in the vicinity of the ITCZ is supporting moderate to fresh winds N of the ITCZ to 20N and west of 125W. Light to gentle winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 5-8 ft range N of 05N and W of 120W, and 4-5 ft elsewhere. The area of high pressure will maintain moderate to fresh winds from 06N to 22N W of 125W until Sat. The high will then weaken, which will diminish winds in this region. Gentle to moderate winds are expected elsewhere for the next several days. Little change in seas is expected through Sun. Long period NW swell will combine with NE wind waves building seas N of 10N and W of 130W to 8-9 ft Mon. These seas will expand eastward to 120W on Tue. $$ AL
