Tropical Weather Discussion for the eastern Pacific Ocean from
the Equator to 32N, east of 140W. The following information is
based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and
meteorological analysis.

Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 
0830 UTC.

...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH...    

A surface trough extends from 08N78W to 06N88W to 07N100W to 
06N108W. The ITCZ continues from 06N108W to 01N130W. Scattered 
moderate is noted from 07N to 10N between 83W and 86W, and from 
01N to 05N between 93W and 114W.

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO...

A ridge axis continues west of Baja California. Winds east of 
this axis are moderate NW on both sides of Baja California. 
Winds will diminish the next few days as the high weakens and 
drifts southward. A pulse of fresh gap winds is expected this 
morning in the Gulf of Tehuantepec. Light to gentle winds will 
prevail elsewhere into the weekend. Seas of 5 to 6 feet west of 
Baja California will gradually diminish through Fri night.

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND 
WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... 

Light to gentle winds prevail across most of the area, except 
for the Papagayo region where moderate easterly winds will pulse 
to fresh each night through the weekend. Wave heights of 4 to 5 
feet across the area will slowly subside through Sat.

Periods of active weather will continue across tropical waters, 
gradually shifting eastward to Central America and Colombia by 
Fri. Please refer to forecasts and statements issued by your 
local meteorological services.

REMAINDER OF THE AREA...

High pressure centered well N of the area will continue to 
dominate the weather W of 120W. The gradient between the ridge 
and the ITCZ will maintain moderate to fresh winds between 05N 
and 20N W of 125W into the weekend, and gentle to moderate winds 
elsewhere. Wave heights are in the 6-7 ft range S of 20N and W 
of 115W, and 4-6 ft elsewhere. Little change in seas is expected 
through the weekend.
