The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1800 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1930 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 08N78W to 05N107W. The ITCZ extends from 05N107W to beyond 04N140W. Scattered moderate to strong convection is from 03N to 10N between 111W and 122W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted from 00N to 10N between 84W and 104W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A high pressure ridge axis resides west of Baja California this afternoon. Winds to the east of this axis are moderate NW on both sides of Baja California. As the high weakens and drifts south through the end of the week, winds will decrease. A pulse of fresh gap winds is likely tonight in the Gulf of Tehuantepec. Elsewhere, light to gentle winds will prevail into the weekend. Seas of 5 to 7 feet to the west of Baja California will gradually diminish Thu. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Light to gentle winds prevail across most of the area, except for the Papagayo region where moderate E winds will pulse to fresh each night through the weekend. Wave heights of 4 to 6 feet across the area will subside into Thu night as southerly swell decays. Periods of active weather will continue across tropical waters, gradually shifting eastward to Central America and Colombia by Fri. The gradient between the ridge and the ITCZ will keep fresh winds in place between 05N and 20N W of 125W through the weekend, with gentle to moderate winds elsewhere.
