The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1430 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 08N78W to 05N107W. The ITCZ extends from 05N107W to beyond 04N140W. Scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is from 03N to 10N between 112W and 126W. Scattered moderate convection is located from 01N to 09N between 86W and 101W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A high pressure ridge axis remains west of Baja California while a week surface trough extends through the spine of Mexico. The pressure gradient between the two features is causing moderate NW winds both in the Gulf of California and in offshore waters W of Baja California. These winds will diminish as the high pressure weakens into the weekend. Elsewhere, light to gentle winds already prevail, except for the Gulf of Tehuantepec, where some moderate to fresh winds may pulse tonight. Wave heights of 5 to 7 feet to the west of Baja California will gradually decrease Thu. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Light to gentle winds prevail across most of the area, except for the Papagayo region where moderate to fresh winds are expected, highest overnights through the weekend. Wave heights of 5 to 7 feet across the area will subside Thu as southerly swell decays. Periods of active weather will continue across tropical waters, gradually shifting eastward to Central America and Colombia by Fri. The gradient between the high and the equatorial trough is supporting fresh winds from 05N to 20N west of 120W. Gentle to moderate winds are observed elsewhere.
