Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0240 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 07N78W to 07N102W to 02N127W. The ITCZ extends from 02N127W to 02N140W. Scattered moderate to strong convection is noted from 01N TO 10N between 82W and 125W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... High pressure prevails west of the Baja California peninsula. Gentle to moderate winds prevail west of Baja California and southward to near Cabo Corrientes, with seas in the 4-7 ft range. Gentle to locally moderate winds prevail across the Gulf of California, with seas in the 2-4 ft range. Light to gentle winds prevail elsewhere with seas in the 5-6 ft range, mainly in SW swell. Weak high pressure will continue to prevail west of the Baja California peninsula through Fri. This will support mainly gentle to moderate winds west of Baja California, and light to gentle winds elsewhere. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Gentle to moderate gap winds prevails in the Gulf of Papagayo with seas in the 4 to 6 ft range. Light to gentle winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 6-7 ft range between the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador in SW swell. Elsewhere, seas are in the 4-5 ft range. Moist S to SW flow will prevail over the forecast area through the middle of next week. Large scale atmospheric conditions will be favorable for enhanced widespread convection. Conditions will be favorable for locally heavy rainfall to persist over the waters near the equatorial trough axis, and shift eastward into southern Costa Rica, Panama, western Colombia and northwest Ecuador during the next several days. The ridge will continue to prevail over the northern waters through the upcoming week with the same general conditions prevailing.
