Tropical Weather Discussion for the eastern Pacific Ocean from
the Equator to 32N, east of 140W. The following information is
based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and
meteorological analysis.

Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 
0900 UTC.

...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH...

The ITCZ axis extends from 06N85W to 04N96W to 06N100W to 
04N140W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 05N to 09N 
between 128W and 139W. 

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO...

High pressure building in the wake of a dissipated cold front 
that moved across Baja California Norte last night extends east 
into the Revillagigedo Islands. This ridge will maintain fresh 
NW winds west of Baja California through Sun, except fresh to 
strong south of Punta Eugenia through Sat morning. Fresh to 
strong NW winds are expected in the southern half of the Gulf of 
California through Fri night. Gentle W to NW winds will dominate 
the waters between Cabo Corrientes and Tehuantepec through Sun.

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND 
WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... 

High pressure north of the western Caribbean will support pulses 
of fresh NE to E winds in the Gulf of Papagayo region through 
Sun. Light to gentle winds are expected elsewhere across the 
offshore waters, except for the Gulf of Panama, where moderate 
northerly winds will pulse each night through the weekend. Long 
period SW swell will gradually subside across Galapagos Islands 
region through tonight. 

REMAINDER OF THE AREA...

Scatterometer data shows a large area of fresh to strong trade 
winds from 08N to 25N west of 120W, south of a ridge across the 
northern waters. Limited altimeter data shows seas of 8 to 12 
ft, mainly west of 125W. These conditions will persist through 
next week. 

Meanwhile, convergence of trade wind flow in the lower levels of 
the atmosphere along with divergent flow aloft is supporting a 
few showers and thunderstorms north of the ITCZ west of 130W.
