Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1415 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A trough extends from 09N80W to 05N92W. The ITCZ is noted from 04N99W to 03N118W to 03N138W. Numerous moderate and scattered strong convection is noted from 05N to 16N W of 127W. Scattered moderate convection is from 01N to 04N between 127W and 129W and from 09N to 14N between 117W and 122W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A 1020 mb high is centered W of Baja California near 26N119W with a ridge extending SE and offshore the Mexico coast to 22N110W. Moderate to occasionally fresh NW winds are occurring across all waters N and W of Colima, including the Gulf of California, with generally light to gentle winds to the S. Seas are averaging 4 to 7 ft in NW swell. The high center will remain nearly stationary and gradually weaken through Sun evening, with little change in overall conditions. A weakening cold front will move into Pacific waters offshore Baja California Norte Sun night, then dissipate Mon night over Baja California Norte. High pressure building in the wake of this front will lead to fresh to strong NW winds across Gulf and Pacific waters offshore Baja California much of next week. A low pressure trough over the Bay of Campeche will lead to strong N gap winds in the Gulf of Tehuantepec this afternoon through Sun night. Winds will peak overnight tonight, with near gale conditions possible. Seas of 8 to 10 ft can be expected. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Strong high pressure over the northern Caribbean will maintain fresh to strong NE to E winds, highest during the late nights and early mornings, over the Gulf of Papagayo region through Tue. Seas of 8 to 10 ft can be expected. Expect gentle to moderate winds to remain elsewhere across the offshore waters through early next week. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A cold front that stretches from 30N122W to 22N128W will drift SE through the weekend and weaken. S of this front, fresh to occasionally strong trades will prevail N of the ITCZ and W of 120W. Seas will range from 8 to 10 ft in this area, increasing some early next week as stronger high pressure builds in from the north.
