The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0100 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A trough extends from 09N84W to 05N87W to 05N93W. The ITCZ extends from 05N94W to 02N106W to 04N122W. Scattered moderate convection is from 0N to 07N between 113W and 126W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... The pressure gradient between a cold front extending across Baja California Sur to 25N112W to 20N116W to 15N120W, and a surface ridge across the northern Pacific forecast waters is supporting strong to near gale force NW winds over the offshores of the Baja California Peninsula N of 26N. Seas to 13 ft are currently in that region. The front will dissipate tonight near Cabo San Lucas and winds will diminish to moderate with seas gradually subsiding below 8 ft through Thu morning. Fresh to strong southwest winds are over the northern Gulf of California N of 27N associated with the aforementioned cold front. These conditions will prevail through early Thu as this portion of the front moves east to north-central Mexico. A surface trough developing over the Bay of Campeche over the weekend will induce northerly winds in the Gulf of Tehuantepec reaching near gale force at night on Sat. Strong winds are expected to begin on Sat morning and the gap event is forecast to end by Sun afternoon. Seas are expected to build to 9 ft during the peak winds. Gentle to moderate winds and seas to 6 ft in southwest swell are expected elsewhere through the weekend. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... High pressure over the northern Caribbean will maintain fresh to strong NE to E winds over the Gulf of Papagayo region into the start of next week. Winds during this period will be highest at night, reaching near gale force and with seas building to 9 ft. Moderate to fresh north winds will continue south of the Gulf of Panama into Fri with seas to 7 ft in long period southwest swell. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A cold front extends across Baja California Sur to 25N112W to 20N116W to 15N120W. Moderate to fresh northwest winds are behind the front between 118W and 130W with seas to 11 ft in NW swell. The front will dissipate tonight near Cabo San Lucas, however seas over the region will gradually subside to below 8 ft by Thu morning. Surface ridging across the northern waters is supporting fresh trades west of 120W tonight. Another cold front will push into the NW waters Thu night, and extend from 30N130W to 24N140W by Fri evening. The associated low will become occluded this weekend, and the occluded low pressure system will introduce large long period NW swell into the NW waters on Sun, along with the potential for strong winds. $$ Ramos
