A cold front extending across Baja California Norte to Punta Eugenia to 21N119W is associated with a 1005 mb low centered near 31N117W. The pressure gradient between the area of low pressure and a surface ridge across the northern Pacific forecast waters is supporting moderate to fresh northwest winds N of 22N between 121W and 130W with seas in the range of 8 to 11 ft. The front will weaken tonight over the Baja California Sur and adjacent waters with seas over the region gradually subsiding to below 8 ft by Thu morning. The ridge across the norhern waters is also supporting fresh trades west of 125W tonight. Another cold front will push into the NW waters Thu night, and extend from 30N130W to 24N140W by Fri evening. The associated low will become occluded this weekend, and the occluded low pressure system will introduce large long period NW swell into the NW waters on Sun, along with the potential for strong winds. $$ Ramos
