The ITCZ extends from 05N95W to 03N109W to 05N122W. Scattered moderate convection is from 05N to 10N between 133W and 136W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A weak front crossing the northern Baja California peninsula will dissipate later today ahead of a stronger cold front that will enter the Baja California Norte offshore waters. The second front will support strong to near gale force southwest to west winds N of 24N through tonight, with seas to 13 ft as the front reaches the peninsula, then subsiding overnight. Strong to near gale force southwest winds associated with the front are also expected in the northern Gulf of California from this morning through tonight, with seas building to 8 ft. Gentle to moderate northerly winds and 5-6 ft seas will prevail across this area Thu through Sat as high pressure builds behind the front. A tightening gradient in southern Mexico this weekend will increase northerly winds in the Gulf of Tehuantepec Sat and Sun, with 25 kt winds and 8-9 ft winds expected. Gentle to moderate winds and 4-6 ft SW swell are expected elsewhere through Sat, with winds increasing slightly by Sun. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... High pressure over the northern Caribbean will maintain fresh northeast to east winds over the Gulf of Papagayo region through Sun, with winds pulsing to strong each night and wave heights in the range of 7-9 ft. Moderate to fresh north winds will continue south of the Gulf of Panama through Thu night, with seas to 5-7 ft expected. Long period southwest swell will prevail across the region through the weekend. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... Low pressure centered near 30N121W trails a cold front southward to 23N126W. The front will shift eastward into Baja California Norte later today, with strong westerly winds and building seas expected. A ridge will develop along 25N through Fri as high pressure builds behind the front. This ridge will strengthen trade winds west of 125W today and tonight. Another cold front will push into the NW waters Thu night, and extend from 30N130W to 24N140W by Fri afternoon. The associated low will become occluded this weekend, and the occluded low pressure system will introduce large long period NW swell into the NW waters on Sun. $$ Mundell
