The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0830 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 06N83W to 03N94W to 01N100W. The ITCZ continues from 01N100W to 00N103W to 03N112W to 02N130W beyond 04N140W. Precipitation: scattered moderate to isolated strong is within 130 nm NW of the surface trough between 90W and 96W. Isolated moderate is elsewhere within 440 nm to the north and northwest of the surface trough and the ITCZ from 106W eastward. Isolated moderate also is within 400 nm to the north of the ITCZ from 110W westward, and within 60 nm to the south of the ITCZ between 111W and 118W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A middle level to upper level cyclonic circulation center is to the north of the Gulf of California, drifting E. Strong S to SW winds are in the northernmost sections of the Gulf of California, N of 29.5N, to the south of the middle level to upper level cyclonic circulation center. Upper level S to SW wind flow and possible rainshowers are within 320 nm on either side of the line that runs from 12N122W to 19N113W beyond 26N109W. A 1011 mb low pressure center is near 29N118W. A cold front curves away from the 1011 mb low pressure center, to 29N115W, and to 25N117W. The forecast is for both areas of cyclonic wind flow/low pressure to weaken on Friday. To the South of the Gulf of California: tranquil conditions generally will prevail into the weekend, elsewhere in the offshore waters of Mexico. The Gulf of Tehuantepec: It is likely for strong N winds to pulse during the nighttime/morning hours, starting on Saturday night/Sunday morning, and continuing to Sunday night/Monday morning. A maximum sea height of 9 feet is forecast on Monday morning near 15N95W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Fresh NE-to-E winds will continue across the Gulf of Papagayo region through at least Sunday night. The wind speeds will pulse to strong during the nighttime hours of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Fresh winds are forecast for the Gulf of Panama during the same time. It is possible that the sea heights may approach 8 feet, downstream from the Gulf of Papagayo, during the nighttime and morning hours, from Saturday until Wednesday. No large swell is anticipated during the next several days. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A 1011 mb low pressure center is near 29N118W. A cold front curves away from the 1011 mb low pressure center, to 29N115W, and to 25N117W. The forecast is for the 1011 mb low pressure center to weaken on Friday. Moderate to fresh NW winds, that are behind the front, will decrease in speed, from tonight into Friday, as the cold front weakens and dissipates gradually.
