The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1800 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 2115 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 05N77W to 05N83W to 05N90W. The ITCZ continues from 05N91W to 04N100W to 07N120W to 08N133W. Scattered moderate convection is from 02N to 06N between 99W and 106W, and from 05N to 10N W of 115W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A large surface ridge anchored by a 1025 mb high centered near 30N131W and an overall weak pressure gradient in the region are supporting gentle to moderate NW winds along Baja California offshore waters and a gentle breeze over the Gulf of California and remainder Pacific forecast zones through Oaxaca, Mexico. In the Gulf of Tehuantepec, northerly winds in the wake of a cold front moving across the eastern Gulf of Mexico, will support fresh to near gale force N winds through late Sat morning. Winds will diminish Sat afternoon as high pressure behind the front shifts east and return flow establishes across the SW Gulf of Mexico. Long period NW swell will arrive tonight to the Baja California Norte offshore waters and will continue to spread SE, reaching the Revillagigedo Islands Sun afternoon. Seas with this round of NW swell will reach to 11 ft before subsiding Sun night. A reinforcing round of NW swell will maintain seas to 11 ft across the Baja offshores through the middle of the week. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... High pressure building north of the area will support strong to near gale force NE to E winds over the Papagayo region at night through Sun evening. Moderate N winds over the Gulf of Panama region will strengthen to fresh to strong Fri night through Sun evening. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A large ridge anchored by a 1025 mb high near 30N131W will dominate the waters N of 10N through the middle of the upcoming week. The ridge will strengthen to about 1031 mb and trades near the ITCZ W of 130W are expected to become fresh to strong Sun through Wed. A round of NW swell is supporting seas of 8 to 14 ft generally N of 10N and W of 130W. This round of swell will propagate SE and reach Baja waters by Fri night. A weakening cold front will usher in more NW swell as it moves into the far NW waters Sat, then stall and dissipate Sat night and Sun. $$ Ramos
