The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0930 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 07N77W to 05N87W to 05N100W. The ITCZ extends from 05N100W to 07N120W to 06N135W. The ITCZ resumes W of a surface trough near 06N138W to beyond 06N140W. Scattered moderate convection is from 05N to 14N between 116W and 138W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Locally fresh NW winds are over the central and southern Gulf of California. Elsewhere, gentle to moderate NW to N winds prevail across most of the offshore waters with 1024 mb high near 29N132W. Offshore high pressure will prevail west of the region through the weekend and into early next week. Moderate NW winds off Baja California and over the N Gulf of California will diminish today. Long period NW swell over the Baja California offshore waters will gradually decay through today. Fresh to strong N winds will be over the Gulf of Tehuantepec today and Sat. Another round of fresh to strong winds will start over the Gulf of Tehuantepec Thu. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... High pressure building north of the area will support fresh to strong NE to E winds over the Papagayo region from Fri night through Sun evening. Moderate N winds over the Gulf of Panama region will strengthen to fresh to strong Fri night through Sun evening. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A persistent surface trough from 05N137W to 14N136W has fresh winds within 240 nm of the axis. Scattered moderate convection is also over the area. Seas are running 8-10 ft. The trough is likely to weaken and drift slowly westward, passing west of 140W by Fri night. Elsewhere, seas 12-15 ft in NW swell continue over the NW corner near 30N140W. A large area W of 105W has moderate to fresh winds with 8-12 ft NW swell. This swell will persist though the weekend.
