The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0900 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 08N78W to 09N87W to 07N100W to 09N118W to 12N123W, then resumes near 11N126W to 07N133W to 08N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted from 06N to 11N between 97W and 102W, from 06N to 10N between 111W and 122W, and from 07N to 10N between 128W and 123W. Scattered moderate to strong convection is occurring from 15N to 19N between 121W and 125W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Moderate to occasionally fresh NW winds continue over the Gulf of California. Seas remain 8-9 ft offshore of Baja California Sur in NW swell, while 8-9 ft seas are well downstream of the Gulf of Tehuantepec. NW swell across the Baja California waters will continue decaying today, with seas subsiding below 8 ft. Fresh NW to N flow will prevail over the central and southern Gulf of California Thu night through Fri night. Gale force winds are possible over the Gulf of Tehuantepec Fri night through Sat night. Large NW swell will reach the waters off Baja California this weekend. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Fresh to occasionally strong NE to E winds will pulse across and downstream of the Gulf of Papagayo through Sun. Gentle to moderate S to SW monsoon flow will persist across the offshore waters of Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Ecuador during the next several days. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... NW swell dominates much of the region west of 120W, with the highest seas to 11 ft W of 130W. This swell will continue propagating SE while gradually decaying through early Thu. A trough extends from 11N127W to 21N126W, ahead of a cold front from 30N124W to 21N128W. Fresh SE winds ahead of the front will diminish by later today. Elsewhere, a small area of fresh to strong winds and seas to 9 ft are found near a low pressure area embedded along the monsoon trough near 09N98W. The cold front over the northern waters will move eastward and weaken through tonight. Large NW swell will move into the NW waters Thu night and propagate SE through the weekend, building seas greater than 12 ft over the NW portion Fri through Sat. $$ Mundell
