The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1515 UTC. .TROPICAL WAVES... A tropical wave is from 05N to 13N with axis near 89W, moving westward at 10 to 15 knots. No convection is associated with it. A tropical wave is from 06N to 15N with axis near 105W, moving westward at 10 to 15 knots. Scattered moderate from 07N to 12N between 103W and 114W. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 07N78W to 07N84W to 09N88W to 08N97W to 10N104W to 08N112W. The ITCZ continues from 08N112W to 10N118W to 08N130W to 09N140W. Scattered moderate convection is from 06N to 10N between 120W and 133W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A surface trough, remnants of a former cold front extends from the southern Gulf of California to southern Baja Peninsula. Seas of 8 to 10 ft in NW swell west of Baja California will gradually subside through tonight as the trough dissipate. Seas of 8 to 11 ft in NW swell will start affecting the waters west of Baja California Norte early on Monday. This new swell will continue to propagate SE to the waters of Baja California Sur before subsiding early on Wed. Gulf of Tehuantepec: Surface high pressure is expected to build over the western Gulf of Mexico on Sun night in the wake of a cold front. This will support fresh to strong northerly gap winds in the Gulf of Tehuantepec with seas to 9 ft. Winds are expected to reach gale force by Mon morning and then gradually diminish from early Tue through the afternoon hours. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Fresh to occasionally strong NE to E winds will pulse across and downstream from the Gulf of Papagayo through Wed. Gentle to moderate S to SW monsoon flow will persist across the offshore waters of Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Ecuador during the next several days, along with moderate SW swell. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A cold front moving into the far NW waters is bringing large long period NW swell, expected to peak near 22 to 23 feet in the far NW waters by Sun afternoon. It is likely that seas of 8 feet or greater may cover much of the forecast waters N of 10N and W of 115W through the remainder weekend and into the middle of next week. $$ NR
