Based on 1800 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 2050 UTC. ...TROPICAL WAVES... The axis of a tropical wave is near 105W from 03N to 17N, moving W at 15 to 20 kt. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted from 08N to 16N between 100W and 108W. This wave will be monitored for the potential of tropical cyclogenesis early next week when atmospheric conditions start to become more favorable. The axis of a tropical wave is near 120W from 04N to 16N, moving W at 15 kt. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is from 12N to 18N between 116W and 124W. The axis of a tropical wave is near 127W from 04N to 16N, moving W at 10-15 kt. Isolated moderate convection is from 08N to 11N between 123W and 127W. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 08N78W to 09N84W to 09N94W to 11N105W to 12N120W to 10N130W. The ITCZ continues from 10N130W to 08N140W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 05N to 08N between 80W and 97W, from 05N to 10N between 110W and 116W, and from 08N to 10N between 130W and 136W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A trough will persist in the Gulf of California through the middle of this coming week with moderate to fresh SE over the weekend and light to gentle variable winds the remainder period. Seas will range between 1 to 3 ft. Across the offshore waters west of Baja California, surface high pressure W of the area will support light to moderate NW winds, with the highest winds N of Punta Eugenia. Seas will range from 3 to 5 ft. Otherwise, nocturnal northerly drainage flow in the Gulf of Tehuantepec will pulse to fresh to locally strong through Mon. Seas will increase to 6 to 8 ft at the peak of these winds each early morning. Offshore WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Moderate to fresh NE to E gap winds will pulse at night across the Gulf of Papagayo region through Sat. Seas of 4 to 5 ft are expected during the gap winds event. Light to gentle winds are expected elsewhere N of the monsoon trough, and gentle to moderate S to SW winds S of the monsoon trough. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... High pressure of 1020 mb centered near 28N131W continue to support moderate to fresh winds between the monsoon trough/ITCZ and 20N. Seas of 4 to 7 ft prevail across most of the region. The high is forecast to linger and weaken through the weekend, while a weak cold front stalls near 30N140W. Otherwise, little change in marine conditions across the trade wind belt is expected. $$ AL
