The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1400 UTC. ...TROPICAL WAVES... The axis of a tropical wave is near 83W, moving W at 10-15 kt. Scattered moderate and isolated strong convection is noted from 04N to 09N between 77W and 85W. The axis of a tropical wave is near 93W, moving W at 10-15 kt. Scattered moderate and isolated strong convection is noted from 06N to 10N between 85W and 100W. The axis of a tropical wave is near 109W, moving W at 10-15 kt. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 06N to 12N between 107W and 120W. The axis of a tropical wave is near 127W, moving W at 10-15 kt. Convection is limited with this wave. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 08N78W to 10N89W to 09N96W to 11N105W to 10N112W to 13N125W to 09N140W. Convection in the vicinity of the monsoon trough is generally associated with the above tropical waves. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... High pressure ridge dominates waters west of the Baja California peninsula, which combined with a weak low pressure trough over the Gulf of California is leading to gentle to moderate NW flow across the waters. This ridge and trough will remain in place through the week, keeping wind and seas conditions the same. Several tropical waves will pass over the far southern waters, with little weather impact besides for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Long period southwesterly swell will decay today and Wednesday, and another set will arrive by the weekend. However, combined seas will remain less than 8 ft. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Moderate to fresh S to SW winds will prevail south of the monsoon trough through Thu, before diminishing somewhat for the end of the week. North of the trough, gentle breezes will prevail except for moderate to locally fresh NE to E winds pulsing during the nights in the Gulf of Papagayo region. Long period southerly swell will move into the southern waters later this week, with seas off the coast of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands building greater than 8 ft Fri through the weekend. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... The remnant low of Gil is centered near 15N134W. Scattered showers are associated with this low but little impact is being felt regarding winds or seas. Elsewhere, high pressure centered north of the waters is dominating weather north of 18N. Gentle to moderate mainly NE winds are occurring through this area, with more southerly component to the winds south of the monsoon trough. Southerly swell continues through the area, with some seas of up to 9 feet occurring from 03N to 09N between 95W and 110W. Swell will decay some into late week, before another set of long period southerly swell propagates into the region by this weekend. $$ KONARIK
