The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0830 UTC. ...TROPICAL WAVES... A tropical wave along 98W from 04N to 15N is moving westward at 10-15 kt. A 1012 mb low is located along the wave near 10N98W. The wave is embedded within a moist atmospheric environment. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is from 06N to 17N between 94W and 100W. The low is expected to slowly develop and move west-northwest Thu and Fri, then weaken to a trough by Sat. A tropical wave along 120W from 03N to 12N is moving westward around 10 kt. The wave is moving through an environment of dry mid-level moisture. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are from 06N to 10N between 112W and 124W. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 07N78W to 10N98W to 08N106W. The ITCZ extends from 08N106W to 08N120W to 07N126W to 08N131W, then resumes from 11N134W to 09N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection from 03N to 10N between 82W and 92W. Isolated showers from 06N to 10N between 112W and 124W. Scattered moderate to strong convection from 08N to 12N W of 133W. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A ridge west of Baja California will build eastward the next few days, and create a slightly stronger pressure gradient that will support moderate to fresh northerly flow off Baja through Fri night. Light to gentle winds will dominate the offshore waters this weekend. Gulf of California: Light to gentle variable winds will dominate the entire gulf through Fri evening. Lower pressure along Baja California Peninsula will deepen afterwards, with moderate to fresh southeast winds expected in the central and southern gulf, and fresh SW winds N of 29N through Sun morning.. Gulf of Tehuantepec: Light and variable winds are expected near the coast through the weekend. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Gulf of Papagayo: Fresh to occasionally strong winds will pulse tonight through Sat night, with seas 6-7 ft through Fri night. A tropical wave moving across Panama and Costa Rica will increase showers south of Central America Thu. Long-period southwest swell will sweep northward Thu through Sat, with seas building to 9-10 ft between Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... The weakening remnant post-tropical low of Cosme is near 22N122W. The pressure gradient across the forecast area is weak. A broad ridge north of the area will shift slightly southeast while a tropical wave continues on a westward track, helping to increase winds across the trade wind belt. Wave heights will peak at 7-8 ft Thu through Fri west of 130W from wind waves and increased long period SW swell propagating through these waters. $$ Mundell
