The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0300 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 09N83W to 04.5N101W to 07N110W. The ITCZ extends from 09N112W to 09N126W to 07N140W. Scattered moderate convection from 04N to 07N between 82W and 88W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 08N to 12N between 102W and 109W. Scattered moderate convection is noted within 90 nm N of the ITCZ between 121W and 135W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... NW swell in excess of 8 ft will linger off Baja California through early Tue. Another round of strong NW winds and large NW swell will start mid week. Farther south, fresh to strong winds are expected in the Gulf of Tehuantepec by Wed. Strong winds are possible across the length of the Gulf of California as high pressure builds over the Great Basin Fri night into Sat. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Light to gentle winds are expected through the forecast period. Seas in the 2 to 4 ft range will prevail, except south of 05N where southerly swell will maintain seas of 3 to 5 ft. Fresh gap winds are possible in the Gulf of Papagayo by mid week. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... The pressure gradient between lower pressure in the vicinity of the ITCZ and high pressure of 1019 mb centered near 28N128W is maintaining mainly light to gentle winds north of 15N, with moderate to occasionally fresh trades farther south. A cold front has moved into the NW waters. Though winds associated to this front will remain below 25 kt, the front will usher in a large NW swell. Seas associated to this swell will peak in the 10 to 15 ft range over the waters north of 25N and west of 130W Tue. NW swell of 8 to 11 ft will cover the region north of 15N and west of 130W through mid week, then propagate eastward covering the region north of a line from Baja California Norte to 08N140W by late this week with 8 to 12 ft swell.
