The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1530 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 09N83W to 05N95W to 06N102W. The intertropical convergence zone continues from 06N102W to 07N130W to beyond 05N140W. Scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is noted within 210 nm north of the ITCZ between 110W and 130W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Fresh to strong winds are noted off the coast of Baja California Norte ahead of a cold front approaching from the west. The front will dissipate by Mon as it moves through Baja California Sur and the southern Gulf of California. Long period NW swell in excess of 8 ft will persist off Baja California through early next week. Looking ahead, fresh to strong winds are possible in the Gulf of Tehuantepec by Wed as a cold front moves into southern Mexico. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Light to gentle winds are expected through the forecast period. Seas in the 2-4 ft range will prevail, except south of 05N where southerly swell will build seas to 4-6 ft today. Fresh gap winds are possible in the Gulf of Papagayo by mid week. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A decaying NW swell is propagating across the northern part of the forecast waters. Swell to 8 ft is observed in a recent altimeter pass near 30N135W. The swell will decay below 8 ft later today. Elsewhere mainly light to gentle winds prevail north of 15N, with moderate to occasionally fresh trades farther south. Looking ahead, a cold front will move into the waters north of 25N early next week, accompanied by larger NW swell, with seas peaking 10 to 15 ft over the waters north of 25N and west of 130W waters Tue.
