Minimal gale conditions are expected Fri night through Sat night, with seas forecast to peak between 12 and 14 ft on Sat morning. Conditions will improve Sun and Sun night as winds become light and variable. Moderate to fresh NW winds will prevail across the central and southern Gulf of California through today, then winds over the entire Gulf will become light tonight through Sun. Elsewhere, gentle to moderate winds and 3 to 6 ft seas will prevail for the next several days. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Strong NE nocturnal winds over and downstream of the Gulf of Papagayo will diminish to moderate to fresh Sun through Tue. Moderate to fresh N winds over the Gulf of Panama will diminish this weekend. Elsewhere, gentle to moderate offshore flow is expected generally N of 08N, while light to gentle SW winds are forecast S of 08N. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... High pressure of 1026 mb centered N of the discussion area near 42N131W extends a ridge SE to near the Revillagigedo Islands. The pressure gradient between the area of high pressure and lowe pressures in the vicinity of the ITCZ supports moderate to fresh trades N of the ITCZ and W of 120W. Seas of 7 to 9 ft from 07N to 18N W of 130W will subside to less than 8 ft by tonight as trade wind waves and swell subside. Outside this area, winds of 20 kt or less and seas less than 8 ft are anticipated through the upcoming weekend into the middle of next week as the weather remains quiet.
