Tropical Weather Discussion for the eastern Pacific Ocean from
the Equator to 32N, east of 140W. The following information is
based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and
meteorological analysis.

Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through
0130 UTC.

...SPECIAL FEATURES...
Hurricane Dora is centered near 18.4N 108.3W at 27/0300 UTC or 
about 190 nm SW of Cabo Corrientes Mexico and about 280 nm SSE 
of the southern tip of Baja California moving WNW at 11 kt. 
Estimated minimum central pressure is 981 mb. Maximum sustained 
wind speed is 80 kt with gusts to 100 kt. Dora will continue on a
WNW track then begin a weakening trend Tuesday as the system 
moves over cooler waters and into a more stable environment. 
Large swell generated by Dora is affecting the coast of SW Mexico
and expected to spread northwestward and affect portions of the 
southern Baja California coast Tuesday. Heavy rainfall may affect
coastal sections of Guerrero and Michoacan in Mexico. Scattered 
to numerous moderate convection is occurring from 16N to 20N 
between 106W and 109W. See latest NHC Forecast/Advisory under

...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH...
The Monsoon Trough extends from 09N84W to 07N93W to 08N98W then 
from 13N108W to 10N117W to 08N128W. The ITCZ extends from 
08N127W to 05N140W. Scattered moderate convection is from 05N to
10N between 81W and 100W...and from 07N to 12N between 108W and 
117W.

...DISCUSSION...   

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO...
Outside of the influence of Dora...gentle to moderate winds 
prevail W of Baja California Norte with light to gentle winds 
off the coast of SW Mexico and across the Gulf of California. 
Seas are 1-3 ft in the Gulf of California and 4-6 ft elsewhere. 
Little change expected during the next several days. 

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND 
WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... 
Gentle to moderate SW to W winds are expected across most of the
region...except for southerly winds between Ecuador and the 
Galapagos Islands. Long period SW swell will propagate into the 
region overnight expected to build seas up to 10 ft late Tuesday
with the exception of the lee region of the Galapagos Islands.

REMAINDER OF THE AREA...
Gentle to moderate NE winds prevail N of 20N W of 125W with 
light to gentle variable winds elsewhere. Seas are generally 5-7
ft. Winds and seas are expected to remain in this range trough
the end of the week.
