The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1800 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 2100 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 10N85W to 10N106W to 07N120W, where scatterometer winds indicate that the ITCZ forms and continues sw to beyond 05N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted from 06N to 10N between 87W and 110W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A weakening pressure gradient supports gentle to moderate NW winds west of Baja California through the upcoming weekend with combined seas of 3 to 6 ft in NW swell. Gulf of California: Moderate NW flow is expected through early Sunday across the northern gulf, and light SW flow will prevail across the entire gulf by late Sun night. Gulf of Tehuantepec: Light southerly flow is expected through the weekend. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Gentle onshore breezes are expected north of 07N during the day, becoming offshore along the coast at night. Combined seas of 4 to 7 ft primarily in SW swell will continue the next several days. Moderate southerly flow is expected through the weekend south of 07N, with combined seas of 5 to 8 ft in S swell. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A ridge will meander from near 32N140W to near 12N104W. Fresh N to NE winds and seas of 5 to 8 ft are expected north of 28N through early Sunday, and moderate flow with 4 to 7 ft seas expected through Monday.
