The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1400 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 10N85W to 13N93W to 06N110W to 06N120W. The ITCZ extends from 06N120W to beyond 06N140W. Scattered moderate convection is noted within 120 nm of the monsoon trough between 94W and 102W, from 01N to 07N E of 99W, from 10N to 12N E of 87W, from 04N to 07N between 105W and 119W and from 04N to 08N west of 130W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Fresh to strong winds are over the far northern Gulf of California with seas in the range of 4-6 ft. Gentle to moderate winds prevail over the remainder gulf along with 1-3 ft seas. Moderate to fresh northwest winds and seas to 8 ft are off the coast of Baja California Norte north of 26N in northwest swell. The remainder forecast waters are under gentle to moderate north- northwesterly flow and seas in the 4-7 ft range. Winds will remain in the 20-25 kt range over the far northern Gulf of California today, then pulse to near gale force tonight. Seas will subside below 8 ft off the coast of Baja California Norte by Tuesday night. A fresh set of northerly swell will propagate into these waters Wednesday night into Thursday night, with seas once again building above 8 ft. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Light to gentle winds with seas in the 3-5 ft range prevail. These conditions will continue through the end of the week. Southwesterly swell will propagate into the southern forecast waters Wednesday morning through the end of the week building seas into the 5-8 ft range. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... High pressure of 1034 mb centered northwest of the forecast area near 37N146W extends a ridge southeast to near the Revillagigedo Islands. Moderate to fresh trades prevail north of the ITCZ and west of 120W, with seas generally ranging from 6 to 8 ft. Seas will remain in the 6 to 8 ft range through Thursday within a moderate to occasional fresh trade wind flow. $$ NR
