The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0900 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 12N78W to 15.5N98W to 07N115W. The ITCZ extends from 07N115W to beyond 05N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection was noted from 10N to 15N between 91W and 100W. Scattered moderate convection was noted within 90 nm of the monsoon trough between 100W and 108W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Latest scatterometer pass indicates winds have diminished off the coast of Baja California Norte. Moderate to fresh winds prevail off the coast of the Baja California Peninsula, fresh to strong winds prevail over the far northern Gulf of California, light to gentle winds prevail over the remainder of the Gulf of California, and gentle to moderate winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 8-11 ft range off the coast of Baja California Norte, 3-5 ft over the far northern Gulf of California, 1-2 ft over the remainder of the Gulf of California, and 4-6 ft over the remainder of the forecast waters. Seas will continue to subside over the waters off the west coast of Baja California Norte, falling below 8 ft by Tuesday. A fresh set of northwesterly swell will propagate into these waters Thursday, with seas once again building above 8 ft. Winds will pulse to strong over the far northern Gulf of California over the next few nights. Elsewhere, winds and seas will remain below advisory criteria. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Light to gentle winds with seas in the 3-5 ft range prevail. Winds and seas will remain in this range through the middle of next week. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... High pressure OF 1039 mb, centered northwest of the forecast area near 39N147W, extends a ridge SE to near the Revillagigedo Islands. Moderate to fresh trades prevail north of the ITCZ and west of 125W. Seas range from 7 to 9 ft. Seas will continue to gradually subside through Monday and will remain in the 6 to 8 ft range late Monday through Wednesday within moderate to occasional fresh trade wind flow. $$ AL
