Based on 1800 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 2045 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 11N86W to 11N94W to 13N99W to 08N104W to 07N116W. ITCZ extends from 07N116W to 07N124W to 04N140W. Scattered moderate and isolated strong convection is from 07N to 13N between 94W and 106W. Scattered moderate convection is elsewhere from 04N to 16N between 84W and 110W... and from 04N to 09N between 123W and 129W.. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Latest scatterometer passes indicates fresh to strong N-NW winds across the waters off the coast of Baja California Norte...with a recent altimeter pass showing seas ranging from 8 to 12 ft across zones PMZ011 and PMZ013. Light to moderate variable winds are occurring within the Gulf of California with seas in the 1-3 ft range...however by Sunday morning S to SW winds will increase into fresh to occasional strong breeze levels N of 30N as an area of low pressure develops across southern Arizona and California. Moderate winds are elsewhere off the coast of Baja California Sur and the remainder of the Mexico coast with seas ranging 4-7 ft. Overall conditions across the northern zones will continue to improve through Monday night as winds diminish into moderate levels and seas begin subsiding...eroding from the current peak of 12 ft across the northern waters to below 8 ft by Monday night. By Wednesday...winds will freshen offshore of Baja California Norte once again with another set of NW swell building seas 8 to 10 ft late next week. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Light to gentle winds with seas in the 3-5 ft range prevail. Winds and seas will remain in this range through the middle of next week. Convection remains active with across the Central America zones with the Monsoon Trough axis extending from the Costa Rica coast near 11N86W to 12N95W. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... High pressure centered NW of the forecast area near 40N149W extends a ridge SE to near the Revillagigedo Islands. Moderate to fresh trades prevail N of the ITCZ and generally W of 125W.
