The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1415 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 10N84W to 14N92W to 07N107W to 06N114W. The ITCZ extends from 06N114W to beyond 05N140W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted from 08N to 16N between 83W and 101W, from 05N to 11N between 101W and 109W and from 05N to 08N between 122W and 129W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Latest scatterometer pass indicates fresh to strong northwesterly winds over the offshore waters off the coast of Baja California Norte to 125W, while altimeter data shows seas have built to near 12 ft. Light to moderate variable winds are along the Gulf of California with seas in the 1-3 ft range. Moderate winds are off the coast of Baja California Sur with seas in the 4-7 ft range. Seas will peak near 13 ft off the coast of Baja California Norte today before beginning to subside. Winds over this area will diminish to 20 kt or less by the end of the weekend. Winds and seas will briefly fall below advisory criteria early Tuesday before another set of northwesterly swell bring seas to near 10 ft by Wednesday. Winds will strengthen over the far northern Gulf of California Sunday night through Monday morning. Elsewhere winds and seas will remain below advisory criteria. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Light to gentle winds with seas in the 3-5 ft range prevail. Winds and seas will remain in this range through the middle of next week. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... High pressure centered northwest of the forecast area near 40N149W extends a ridge southeast to near the Revillagigedo Islands. Moderate to fresh trades prevail north of the ITCZ and west of 125W. Seas have built over the northern waters in northwesterly swell. Seas will peak near 13 ft tonight before starting to diminish. Seas will subside below 8 ft by midweek. $$ NR
