The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0900 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... The monsoon trough extends from 10N85W to 13N95W to 05N112W. The ITCZ extends from 05N112W to beyond 04N140W. Scattered moderate to strong convection is noted from 07N to 13N between 83W and 88W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted within 90 nm north of the monsoon trough between 94W and 97W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted elsewhere from 03N to 10N between 94W and 100W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection was noted within 90 nm north of the ITCZ west of 130W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Latest surface data indicates gentle to moderate winds across the northern Gulf of California with moderate to fresh winds off the coast of Baja California. Light to gentle winds prevail elsewhere. Seas in the Gulf of California are in the 1-3 ft range with seas in the 5-7 ft range elsewhere. High pressure will build west of the Baja California peninsula this weekend, strengthening winds off the coast of Baja California Norte. Northwesterly swell will propagate into the waters off the coast of Baja California Norte this weekend. Seas will peak near 14 ft Saturday night before starting to subside. Elsewhere winds and seas will remain below advisory criteria. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Gentle to moderate winds prevail over the forecast waters. Seas are in the 4-6 ft range. Winds will generally remain gentle to moderate through the period. Seas will subside to the 3-5 ft range by early next week. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A dissipating stationary front extends across the NW portion of the discussion area from 30N131W to 27N140W. The front will dissipate today. High pressure will build in the wake of the front. Moderate to fresh winds will prevail north of the ITCZ, with isolated areas reaching near 25 kt. Seas over the northern waters will build to near 10 ft this weekend before starting to subside early next week. $$ AL
